Stuffed Mushroom Recipe

This time of year it seems there are plenty of parties to attend. So if you are looking for a nice appetizer to bring, give this one a try.

My sister brought over this stuffed mushroom appetizer recently and I want to share it with you. It was excellent and I don’t even care much for mushrooms so this says a lot about this appetizer. People seem to love these little finger foods as they disappear quick. This would be a fabulous hors d’oeuvre to bring to your next party whether it be for Christmas, New Years, or anytime. I’m bringing this tonight to a bunko party.

These party pleasers are easy to make.

Stuffed Mushrooms

  • 1 lb. Sausage, (I used Jimmy Dean Maple, but any will do.)
  • 8 oz. Lite Cream Cheese
  • 5 green onion, chopped small
  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. fresh small mushrooms
  • lemon pepper
  • grated parmesan cheese

Directions:

In a medium bowl, mix raw sausage with the cream cheese and chopped green onion. I just used my clean hands to mix this up. Rinse mushrooms and grab the stems as close to the cap as possible and pull the stem out. This creates a little hollow in the center of each mushroom.

Place the mushrooms in a 9 x 13 inch glass oven proof dish sprayed with Pam. Mound mushrooms with sausage mixture. Again I used my clean hands to do this.

Sprinkle the tops with lemon pepper and parmesan cheese. Place in a 375 F. degree oven for 45 minutes. Serve on a pretty serving tray and watch them disappear.
